Basketball

Since 1976, the national team of KhАІ has been led by coach Borysenko, under whose leadership the KhAI national basketball team has twice become the champion of the Spartakiad of aviation universities of the USSR. In the following years, the men's basketball team repeatedly became the champion and prize-winner of the student league and sports day of Kharkov universities. At the end of 1999, the national team of KhAI 21st century club and a women's team were created under the leadership of coaches Shchedriva and Borysenko. The team debuted in the championship of Ukraine among women's teams of the first league and won bronze medals. In 20 years, she became a 4-time silver and 4-time bronze medalist of the championships of Ukraine among the teams of the first and higher leagues.

Boxing

For many years, the national team of boxers has won the regional cup, the championship of Kharkiv universities, became the champion of the 13th student sports competition of Ukraine, won three times at the sport competition of aviation universities. Pupils of Honored Coach of Ukraine Yeryomenko: Honored Master of Sports Vitaliy Yeryomenko - world champion in karate, multiple prize-winner of championships and World Cups in kickboxing; master of sports of the international class Ilya Kalyna - prize winner of the kickboxing championship and the World Cup; Honored Master of Sports Dinara Zhurgunova - three-time world champion in kickboxing, prize-winner of the European Boxing Championship; Yuriy Rebrikov and Kostyantyn Maksymenko are winners of the World Kickboxing Championship. Stanislav Sudoplatov - won two gold medals at the World Kickboxing Championship: full contact and light contact. Stanislav Sudoplatov 1st place, Valery Bezrukov 1st place in the regional annual sports competitions "Sports for a lifetime" among students of universities III - IV - accreditation level of the Kharkiv region in boxing.

Weightlifting

Since 2000, the fruitful work of the coaches-teachers on the training of high-class athletes has led the national team of the university to high results. For 2004, four first-rate athletes, three candidates for masters of sports and one master of sports of Ukraine Yuriy Trigub have already been trained. In 2006, Oleksiy Torokhtii became a master of sports of international class, twice won the championship of Ukraine among juniors, champion of youth games of Ukraine, champion among students in 2006 and 2007. Winner of the European and World Junior Championships. Participant of qualifying competitions for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, where he was selected for the Olympic Games, and also received the title of master of sports of the international class. Participant of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Winner of the 2009 European Championship. Owner of the 2009 World Cup. Champion of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Oleg Slobodyanuk is also one of the best athletes of KhАІ. In 2003, he started training under the guidance of Shafiggulin and fulfilled the standard of master of sports.

Volleyball

There are two educational and training groups for volleyball at KhАІ: men's and women's, under the leadership of senior teacher Kramarenko and assistant Minayev. The educational and training group is made up of students of KhАІ, who have a sports division in volleyball, as well as those who want to improve their sports skills. Volleyball teams annually take part in competitions among educational institutions of higher education, Cups of the city of Kharkiv, the student League, competitions in track volleyball. In the history of volleyball teams, there are examples when KhАІ players in different years were involved in the top league teams (Tetyana Radovenchyk, Mykhailo Karpenko, Volodymyr Minaev), became prize winners of the Cup of Ukraine in beach volleyball. After completing their studies at KhАІ, graduates continue to play volleyball and take part in competitions, thus spending their free time after the working day. Handball

The collective handball team was created in 2002 and has long traditions. thanks to the fruitful work of teachers and athletes. The men's team of "KhAI" took part in the championship among universities of Kharkiv: in 2006, it took 3rd place; in 2007, took 2nd place; in 2008, the women's national team took 3rd place; in 2009, took the 3rd place; the men's national team took first place in 2011. From 2016 to 2018, the national team of Kharkiv took part in the regional annual sports competition "Sports for a Lifetime" among students of universities of the III-IV level of accreditation of the Kharkiv region, among men's and women's teams, and became champions and prize-winners. In 1019, in the Championship of Kharkiv among men's handball teams, she took first place. (Under the guidance of senior teachers Kononenko and Bilous). 

Kettlebell sports and powerlifting

Students engaged in these sports participate in competitions for the championship of Kharkov higher education institutions, have repeatedly won prizes and performed sports classes. Over the past 10 years, 2 masters of sports and 10 candidates for master of sports of Ukraine have been trained. In 2016, student of the 525a group Ihor Denysenko, master of sports in kettlebell sports, became the bronze medalist of the World Championship, which was held in Turin, Italy. In 2019, Anton Strygunov, a student of the 126th group, candidate for master of sports in weightlifting, became the bronze medalist of the European Junior Championship in Paris, France. In 2019, Mykhailo Bondarenko, a student of the 315th group, and Mykhailo Chumak, a student of the 163tmp group, became the winners of the Kharkiv powerlifting championship. Kickboxing

In April 2019, the members of the KhAI kickboxing team became champions and prize-winners of the Championship of Ukraine among students: (Andriy Geleta, Anatoly Ogurtsov, Oleg Hetman took first place, Dmytro Rulevskyi and Oleksiy Falin took second place). Athletes have repeatedly been winners and prize-winners in regional annual sports competitions "Sports for life" among students of universities III - IV - accreditation level of Kharkiv region. In November 2018, they became prize-winners of the Cup of Ukraine (Andriy Geleta, Anatoly Ogurtsov, Ihor Voskryvenko took 2nd place, Artem Oliynyk took 3rd place and fulfilled the criteria for a candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine). (Under the guidance of senior teacher Samokhin (master of sports)). 

Swimming

The swimming section exists in KhAI as a sports improvement group - a higher level of student training. Also, students are engaged in mass swimming while studying during academic classes. In recent years, our students have won many championships and cups of Ukraine in swimming (Artem Pron, Serhii Nevzorov, Yulia Hychka). Sometimes our students successfully engage in strength training in sports. Yuliya Hychka also became the winner of the World Cup and the European Championship in bench press (powerlifting), and the captain of the chess team Hiles-Gunchenko is a member of the second swimming team. Sambo

The national sambo wrestling team at Khai began to develop in 1966, when the multiple champion of Ukraine Viktor Feofilovych Glowatskyi came to the department. His pupils repeatedly climbed the podiums of the world and European championships. Among the best pupils: Serhii Podolyak - Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class, world and European champion among men, prize winner of the Sambo World Cup; Kyrylo Krykunov, champion and two-time medalist of the world combat sambo championships; Mykhailo Cherkasov – Master of Sports of Ukraine of the international class, multiple prize-winner of the world and European championships among young men and juniors, prize-winner of world cups among students, prize-winner of the World Universiade in Sambo wrestling, winner of the European Judo Cup; Dmytro Yevdoshenko – Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class, prize-winner of the world and European championships among men in sambo wrestling; Anastasiya Shevchenko – Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class, world and European champion, multiple prize-winner of world and European championships among girls, juniors and women, three-time winner of cups and world championships among students in sambo. Currently Oleg Zayka is the coach of the student national team.

Rock climbing

Rock climbing as an independent sport began to develop in KhАІ after 1994, when the best climbing simulator in Ukraine was built in the athletic arena of our university. Currently, more than a hundred students of KhAI are practicing in the climbing section under the leadership of Nastasya Uvarova. The collective team of climbers of KhАІ is a multiple winner of championships among students. Pupils of the section are winners and prize-winners of international competitions. Master of sports Yelyzaveta Lavrykova - winner of the European Cup, finalist of the European Championship, multiple champion of Ukraine. Valery Leshchenko is a master of sports, finalist of the World Championship, multiple champion of Ukraine.

Tennis

The student tennis section of KhAI has existed since 1982. During this time, the national team was a multiple prize-winner of the Kharkiv Oblast student Spartakiad in tennis. Classes are held in the arena of KhAI, where there are 5 tennis courts, equipped with professional equipment and good lighting. Training is conducted in groups of initial training and groups of sports improvement. Students with degrees are part of the university tennis team. They take part in competitions between faculties, as well as in sports competitions of the region. According to the results of the competition, ranks are assigned. (Under the direction of senior teacher Bakanova). 

Tourism

Performance at sports tourism technique competitions, our athletes repeatedly became prize winners and champions of various All-Ukrainian and International competitions. Our athletes have a victory at the World Mountain Tourism Championship, multiple victories at the Championship of Ukraine and the International Federation of Hiking and Mountain Tourism, numerous victories at various regional competitions. Athletes of our club are multiple winners of the Cup of Ukraine in mountain tourism. In addition, our club successfully engages in cycling and water tourism, as well as speleo- and ski tourism. (Under the guidance of the coach, Hryhorovych, Master of Sports of Ukraine). 

Тaekwondo

From 2010 to 2019, athletes of the national team fulfilled the standards of masters of sports of Ukraine and candidates for masters of sports and became champions and prize-winners of championships of Ukraine and the Spartakiad among students: Artem Marchenko, Ihor Lapin, Daryna Garbuz, Svitlana Lobanova, Nataliya Bugayenko, Shchy Tavhyd, Kumar Yuvaraj, Yulia Bala, Maxim Lafazan and others. At the Taekwondo open championship of Germany in February 2019, Svitlana Lobanova, a student of the 365th group, and Nataliya Bugaenko, a student of the 661f group, took first place. (Trainer, assistant, Olin).  

Rhythmic gymnastics

The student section on rhythmic gymnastics was founded in KhАІ in 1999. During the 20 years of the national team's existence, professional sportswomen have increased their skills in the section. And also trained female students who only wanted to master this sport. In 2018, the girls took part in the regional annual sports competition "Sports for Life" among students of universities of the III-IV level of accreditation of the Kharkiv region in artistic gymnastics and took the 3rd place. In 2019, a student of the 515th group took first place at the 21st international tournament "Autumn" in her age category. (Under the direction of the senior teacher of Poddubnaya).  

Cheerleading

The national team consists of female students of KhAI, who participated in 2018 and 2019 in the regional annual sports competitions "Sports for Life" among students of universities III - IV - accreditation level of Kharkiv region. (Under the direction of senior teacher Kryvoruchko).
