The purpose of the training and certification department:
- provision of training of students (within the block of elective minor disciplines) for further work as civil aircraft maintenance personnel, as well as components intended for installation on such an aircraft in accordance with the requirements of the "Rules for the approval of maintenance training organizations " (PART-147), "Rules for Issuing Certificates of Aircraft Maintenance Personnel" (PART-66), "Rules for Approval of Maintenance Organizations" (PART-145), "Rules for Continuing Airworthiness" (PART-M) ;
- conducting research, experiments, forming conclusions and examinations on certification of aviation equipment and its components;
- implementation of a unified technical policy in the field of metrology and metrological activity, ensuring the quality and competitiveness of scientific, scientific and technical products created in the educational institution, creating normative-legal, regulatory, scientific-technical and organizational foundations for ensuring the unity of measurements for all laboratories of the University's divisions, protection at all levels of scientists and laboratory workers of units from the consequences of unreliable measurement results, support of the educational process and certification of educational laboratory complexes at the University, ensuring the conformity of standardization objects to their purpose and managing the diversity, applicability, compatibility, interchangeability of standardization objects
The main tasks of the training and certification department:
- the organization of the educational process, which includes the preparation of courses and their teaching within the framework of the block of elective disciplines (minor) within the framework of existing educational programs, as well as in the form of an additional educational service for the training of civil aircraft maintenance specialists with their subsequent attestation and issuance of relevant certificates in accordance with PART-147 and PART-66 (upon request and in case of mastering the program in accordance with PART-147 and PART-66 standards);
- performance of work on approval of aircraft maintenance organizations in accordance with PART-145 and issuance or confirmation of the Certificate of Approval;
- performance of research and research and production works and provision of services in accordance with the conditions of PART-M;
- metrological support of scientific, research works and educational process at the University;
- development, revision of standards, codes of established practice, technical conditions and changes to them, establishment of the procedure for their development, revision and application;
- participation in the established procedure in the implementation of the University's foreign economic relations;
- conducting research, experiments, forming conclusions and examinations on certification of aviation equipment and their components;
- implementation of other projects related to the certification of enterprises, organizations, equipment and specialists in the fields of activity of the University;
- other activities that contribute to the development of scientific and technical progress in various branches of the economy of Ukraine.
To achieve the goal, the training and certification department performs the following functions:
- organization of the educational process and certification of students in accordance with the requirements of PART-147, PART-66;
- organization of work on approval of aircraft maintenance organizations in accordance with PART-145 and issuance or confirmation of the Certificate of Approval;
- performance of research and research and production works and services in accordance with the conditions of PART-M;
- organization of the educational process and other types of work related to the certification of enterprises, organizations, equipment and specialists according to the areas of activity of the University;
- the organization of conducting research, experiments, forming conclusions and examinations on certification of aviation equipment and their components;
- ensuring the unity and necessary accuracy of measurements, increasing the level of metrological support in the activities of the educational institution, introducing modern methods and means of measurement into practice, aimed at increasing the level of scientific, scientific and technical research, the effectiveness of supporting the educational process, the technical level and quality of scientific and scientific technical products, as well as other works performed by the University;
- ensuring regulatory and legal regulation in the field of standardization;
- interaction with foreign educational institutions and organizations in matters of implementation of NSV tasks;
- participation in the creation, equipping and updating of thematic laboratories in accordance with the requirements set forth in PART for the permitted type of activity.
The training and certification department, in accordance with the main areas of activity and in agreement with the rector, conducts:
- attestation of trainees who have fulfilled the requirements of the relevant training program and successfully passed the final exams, with the issuance of the relevant certificate;
- development and coordination with the State Aviation Service of Ukraine of the necessary documentation in accordance with the requirements of the Aviation Rules and legislation of Ukraine;
- development of educational plans and formation of proposals regarding the staff of certified teachers in accordance with legislative acts;
- formation and execution of contracts for scientific, scientific and technical, experimental works with customers;
- concluding and monitoring the implementation of thematic contracts with organizations and enterprises in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine;
- provision of advisory services (scientific, technical, etc.) in accordance with the procedure established by the University.
