The training of specialists in the direction of "Psychology" at the National Aerospace University "KhAI" was started on September 1, 2001 at the request of 12 enterprises of Ukraine, which need specialists in engineering psychology, as well as specialists for the social sphere. The training of specialists was started as part of the Department of Political Science and History. The Department of Psychology, as a graduate department, was founded on November 1, 2002.

The staff of the department includes 4 professors, doctors of science and 17 candidates of science, associate professors. The results of scientific research of the department's teachers are reflected in monographs, scientific articles, theses of conferences and methodological developments. The high quality of teaching of professionally oriented disciplines is achieved due to the implementation of the results of scientific research and new learning technologies in the educational process.

Such results in the training of specialists are achieved by the Department of Psychology of the National Aerospace University "KhAI" due to the formation of a high-quality composition of future specialists. The "Psychology" specialty prepares psychologists of the "bachelor's" and "master's" qualification levels. Master's training in the specialty "Psychology" is carried out under the educational program "Psychological counseling and psychotherapy", which is designed to train specialists in the field of psychological correction, counseling and psychotherapy in order to provide psychological assistance to people and families who want to change, solve their own problems, find new resources and talents in themselves. Students also master the basics of psychology of advertising, work with personnel, development and implementation of social technologies, polygraph studies and psychological examination.
