Bayrachny School of Philosophy
The postgraduate course at the department was opened in 1991 in the specialty "Ontology, epistemology, phenomenology", on the basis of which 17 candidate's and 4 doctoral theses were successfully defended.
Professor Kim Bayrachniy is a graduate of the law institute, and later a doctor of philosophy, an honored employee of the higher school.
Scientific searches and methodological developments of Kim Bayrachnyi were recognized not only in Ukraine and the countries of the former USSR, but also abroad. He repeatedly completed internships at universities in Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Germany, where he gave author's courses of lectures.
Professor Kim Bayrachnyi was especially attentive to the selection of professional personnel at the then Department of Philosophy: he invited a group of young graduates from various universities of the country - T. A. Kolomiets (Kyiv); M. V. Korogodov and E. P. Korogodov, A. Yu. Kuznetsov, L. V. Ryazantsev, O. P. Protsenko (Moscow); O. V. Kovalevska, E. V. Kachurova (Leningrad); K. M. Magomedov (Ryazan) and organized his philosophical school.
Under the scientific guidance of Kim Bayrachny, candidate theses were defended by E. V. Kachurov ("Philosophy of the ideology of modern reason", 1995), N. L. Bilchuk ("Cardiocentrism as a methodological principle of a holistic understanding of society and man", 2001. ), as well as A. Yu. Kuznetsov ("Philosophical discourses of marginal chronotopes", 2009), and V. O. Chernienko ("Identity of the social subject in the context of socio-cultural transformations", 2011) became doctors of philosophy.
Gradually, the main topics of research are formed in the scientific work of the department, which later became the foundation of the general research work on the topic "Philosophy of the identity of the social subject".
The teachers of the department fruitfully cooperated with young post-graduate students - graduates of "KHAI" and other universities. Thus, under the leadership of L. V. Ryazantseva, K. M. Daragan ("Actualization of personality as the interaction of the rational and irrational", 2002), E. P. Korogodova - N. L. Iordaki ("Methodological foundations of the formation of spirituality", 2003), and with the support of O. V. Kovalevska - O. V. Plahotnyk ("The philosophy of the subject in the educational space", 2004).
The creative path of O. V. Plahotnik, who after successfully defending her PhD under the supervision of Assoc. O. V. Kovalevska continued her studies outside of Ukraine and received a master's degree at the European Humanities University (Vilnius), a Ph.D. (OpenUniversity, Great Britain). In 2011, she received a grant for a study trip to the USA under the theme "Education" of the "Open World" program with the support of the US Congress. 2015 O. V. Plahotnik becomes a grantee of the Visby program (Swedish Institute) to carry out a research project at Linköping University on the topic "Feminist, queer and norm-critical pedagogies in Sweden". Main research projects: "Theories of gender and sexuality in the curricula of Ukrainian universities" (Hungary), "Gender, sexuality and power" (USA). O. V. Plahotnik is also a scholarship recipient of the program named after Fulbright on the topic "Principles and configurations of gender and feminist pedagogies in the USA", and since 2019 - a national expert of the international project on gender and sexual human rights (Ukraine, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan).
Associate professor of the department, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences A. L. Svyaschuk took an active part in the Erasmus+ UNNI4INNO international program - activation of the triangle of knowledge through the creation of innovation offices of universities. Within this program, a consortium of six domestic universities was created with partner universities in Sweden, Italy, Austria, and Spain. During 2010–2013, he visited leading universities in Europe, studied the experience of innovative approaches to the implementation of knowledge, the activities of business incubators that combine educational work , inventions and entrepreneurship. And in 2016–2019, A. L. Svyaschuk participated in the international project on human rights HRLAW (Erasmus+ CBHE), where, during a visit to the Royal University of Technology in Stockholm, he studied the experience of the EU, in particular, in the creation of student self-government and the position of ombudsman in universities, in order to introduce such a position in the Khai. The result of the work in the project was the development of educational manuals "Problems of refugee rights and modern challenges" (2018), "Legal protection of the LGBT community" (2018).
In accordance with the Strategy for the Development of Civic Education in Ukraine with the support of the IFES International Foundation, Head. Department of L. Bilchuk and Associate Professor S. I. Shiroka in 2019 participated in many trainings with the aim of introducing the interactive course "Democracy: from theory to practice" into the educational process at the university. The acquired experience and knowledge are actively implemented in the educational process at the department, which makes it possible to significantly modernize traditional approaches to the presentation of philosophy to students, to make philosophical issues more diverse, and to teach the material in the context of world trends and modern worldview.
