Department of Physics
of the Faculty of Radioelectronics, Computer
Systems and Infocommunications
of the National Aerospace University
"Kharkiv Aviation Institute"

The Department of Physics provides educational programs in the discipline "Physics". The main task of the department within the framework of the educational process is the formation of students' ideas about the unified physical picture of the world and the regularities of the structure of matter and its movement, which are reflected in the most general laws of physics, as well as the skills of using the acquired knowledge in future professional activities. This helps students to form a unified scientific approach to the analysis of physical phenomena and processes embedded in the principles of operation of technical devices, devices and machines.

Teaching staff of the department: 4 doctors of technical sciences, 7 candidates of physical, mathematical and technical sciences (5 professors, 5 associate professors, 1 senior teacher).

The teachers of the department are the authors of scientific monographs, textbooks, study guides. Teachers have taken and are actively participating in international scientific congresses, conferences, symposia, seminars and educational and methodological conferences (Japan, France, Austria, Egypt, Canada, Spain, etc.). Some teachers of the department have completed internships abroad and conduct classes in English.

The staff of the department performs research work in two directions:

- application of a bipolar plasma discharge above the surface of a liquid to purify water from chemical pollution (State registration number: 0121U108252. Date of registration: 11-02-2021. Supervisors: Taran Anatoliy Oleksiyovych (Ph.D., Professor)).

- research and modeling of non-equilibrium processes in self-organized and heterogeneous systems of various nature (State registration number: 0121U110101. Date of registration: 03-26-2021. Supervisors: Oleg Mykolayovych Chugay (Ph.D., Professor)).

KhAI students regularly win prizes at the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads in Physics. The "Quantum" physics club works at the physics department.
