The history of the CAD/CAM/CAE training center dates back to 1993
The training center was organized by the joint efforts of specialists of the Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex named after Antonov (Kyiv, Ukraine), specialists of the Department of Aircraft Design (No. 103) and Digital (US) and EDS (USA) firms.
As a result of this cooperation, an agreement was signed with the company "EDS" (USA) dated December 18, 1992, on providing the CAD/CAM/CAE training center with ten workplaces with the "UNIGRAPHICS" system, and an agreement with the company "Digital" (USA) dated December 18, 1992. February 1993, about providing 6 workplaces with the same system.
This agreement was so important that, taking it into account, the "Association of Aviation Enterprises of Ukraine" decided to create a system for the automated creation of aviation equipment (ACAE). And at the first stage of creation of ACAE, the "UNIGRAPHICS" system will be adopted as the basic design system for all enterprises of the industry.
According to the order of the University No. 112-uch. on March 24, 1993, it was ordered to organize a training center for studying modern CAD/CAM/CAE systems. It was ordered to appoint Oleksandr Grebenikov as the head of the educational center.
The main tasks that the newly created educational center had to solve were:
- training of highly qualified technical specialists by profession, free-flowing measures and methods of working on modern software and technical complexes.
- training and retraining of industry specialists in measures and methods of working on modern software and technical complexes.
The difference between this educational center and similar centers in other educational institutions of Ukraine is the lack of commercial orientation and the work is focused on the training and retraining of young specialists who have worked in aviation or other industries. It should also be noted that when the educational center was created, it was created free of charge by the companies "Digital" (US) and EDS (USA).
