International Programs

KhAI’s international partnership is a gateway to the European Research Area. In today's world, a university's success is defined by its integration into the global scientific community. For the National Aerospace University "KhAI," participation in international programs is not just about grants, but a path toward the standards of the future.

Erasmus+

This is the EU's largest program in the field of education. For KhAI, it is implemented in two main areas:

KA1 (Academic Mobility): KhAI students have the opportunity to study for a semester at partner universities (Germany, Poland, Spain, etc.), while faculty members can participate in internships and teaching exchanges.

KA2 (Capacity Building): Joint projects for curriculum modernization. KhAI is traditionally strong in projects related to engineering, IT, and aviation technologies.

Erasmus+ is more than just education. The Erasmus+ program has become synonymous with freedom and development for our students. Thanks to academic mobility agreements, KhAI students travel to leading European universities every year, receiving scholarships and invaluable international experience. At the same time, capacity-building projects allow us to upgrade laboratories and implement curricula that meet global requirements.

Horizon Europe

The EU's flagship funding program for research and innovation. For KhAI, this is the "major league" of scientific cooperation. The University participates in consortia with leading aircraft manufacturers (Airbus, Leonardo) and research centers. Projects typically focus on eco-friendly aviation, advanced materials, and flight safety. Horizon Europe represents science at the edge of possibility. KhAI is an active participant in the Horizon Europe program. Our scientists work on developing the next generation of engines, composite materials, and AI systems for UAVs in collaboration with global industry giants. This confirms KhAI's status as a leading research center in Eastern Europe.

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service)

The largest German organization in the field of international cooperation. For KhAI, this represents traditionally strong ties with German technical universities. DAAD funds individual grants for KhAI master's and doctoral students, as well as group study trips for students to Germany. Germany is one of our university's key partners. DAAD programs open doors to top German laboratories for our young researchers. Summer schools, research internships, and long-term master's programs make KhAI graduates competitive in the global labor market.

TEMPUS

This program was the predecessor to Erasmus+. It laid the foundation for reforms at KhAI in the 2000s. Thanks to TEMPUS, the university established its first modern computer labs, implemented the Bologna system, and developed new master's programs in aviation management. The TEMPUS program helped KhAI transform its educational process during the challenging times of transitioning to European standards.

Jean Monnet

The program is aimed at studying the processes of European integration. Even though KhAI is a technical HEI, the Jean Monnet program allows for the implementation of courses on European aviation safety standards, EU space law, and intellectual property. Today, KhAI is developing humanitarian and legal dimensions through Jean Monnet projects, studying European approaches to aerospace industry regulation.
