Educational Program "Distributed Information Systems" focuses on designing and building global, fault-tolerant, and ultra-scalable digital ecosystems that unite thousands of servers into a single cohesive organism. Today, such a specialist is a Distributed Systems Engineer, Cloud Solutions Architect, and SRE (Site Reliability Engineer). You are the one who creates the fundamental infrastructure for platforms serving millions of users, where data is processed in milliseconds without a single glitch. Your targets will be cloud clusters, message brokers, distributed databases, Edge & Fog Computing, and serverless architectures.
The goal of study is to turn you into a "master of scale and reliability", capable of taming the chaos of network latency and hardware failures. We will teach you consensus algorithms, asynchronous data processing, load balancing, and building fault-tolerant systems. This is the territory of Cloud Native, Distributed Consensus & High-Load Architecture, where systems operate 24/7/365. You will learn to design multi-cloud solutions, process real-time data streams (Data Streaming), and ensure a balance between data consistency and availability (CAP theorem).
Your superpower: In a world where a ten-second outage costs millions of dollars, you will possess Zero-Downtime Architecture and Distributed Data Processing Mastery — skills to build systems that keep working even if half of the data centers fail.
Your professional arsenal will include:
- Distributed Consensus & Protocols: deep understanding of network interaction protocols, consensus algorithms (Raft, Paxos), and principles of building p2p networks.
- Event-Driven & Messaging Systems: designing event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Event Store.
- Distributed Storage & NoSQL Databases: working with distributed DBMS (Cassandra, DynamoDB, CockroachDB) and orchestrating sharding and replication.
- Cloud Orchestration & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): automation and management of planetary-scale clusters (Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS/GCP/Azure).
Our graduates are Cloud Architects at tech giants (Amazon, Google, Microsoft), Lead Infrastructure Engineers at financial and fintech corporations (Revolut, Stripe), SRE specialists at high-load media platforms (Netflix, Spotify), and experts in developing global distributed networks.
Objects of professional activity for bachelor's graduates are distributed computing networks and cloud infrastructures; distributed databases and Big Data storage; orchestration and containerization software tools; service-oriented (SOA) and microservice architectures, as well as asynchronous messaging protocols and systems.
