The objects of professional activity of graduates of this specialty include the patterns of functioning and development of socio-economic systems and socio-economic processes, their modeling, forecasting, and regulation; the motivation and behavior of economic agents; analysis and planning of their activities aimed at achieving economic and social outcomes; contemporary economic processes and phenomena; scientific methods of normative, quantitative, and institutional analysis; instruments for shaping international, national, regional, and sectoral economic policy as well as enterprise economics; the theory and methodology of scientific research; and the phenomena, processes, and problems of modern economic systems.
The purpose of the program is to train specialists with modern economic thinking, theoretical knowledge, and practical skills required to solve typical specialized tasks and practical problems within the field of economics, as well as to prepare highly qualified economics professionals capable of addressing complex research, innovative, and managerial tasks and problems related to the functioning of economic systems at various levels, characterized by uncertainty of conditions and requirements. The program also aims to develop the ability to generate new ideas and solve complex problems in economics, which involves a profound rethinking of existing knowledge and the creation of new integrated bodies of knowledge and/or the advancement of professional practice.
Training is provided by the Department of Economics and Public Administration (Department No. 601) and the Department of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies.
