The Department of Economics and Public Administration is an important structural unit of the Faculty of Software Engineering and Business at KHAI. This Department specializes in training highly qualified specialists through the educational-professional programs “SMART-Economics,” “Economics,” and “Public Administration and Management” at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD levels.

Thanks to a modern teaching and methodological base and an experienced faculty, the Department provides high-quality theoretical education, effective organization of independent and individual student work, all types of practical training, and distance learning. The faculty actively employ modern pedagogical technologies, fostering analytical thinking and the development of students’ practical skills. The Department staff includes 17 members, among whom are 6 Doctors of Sciences, 8 Candidates of Sciences, and 3 support staff members.

The Department’s researchers conduct relevant studies within the scientific theme: “Theoretical and Applied Problems of Economics and Public Administration in Ukraine under Martial Law and the Post-War Period” (DR № 0124U000577), addressing current requirements for the development of economics and public administration.

Students of the Department have the opportunity to participate in national student research competitions and Olympiads, regularly winning awards. The best students receive named scholarships from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Leonid Kuchma Presidential Foundation “Ukraine,” the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Zavtra.UA, and others. The Department also participates in the operation of the “Leader of the Future” school club, which fosters talent and skills for successful professional development.

The Department regularly holds scientific and methodological seminars, where faculty and students discuss current issues in public administration and economics research and ways to improve the Department’s scientific activities.

Faculty members continuously enhance their qualifications by attending postgraduate education programs at leading universities, seminars, conferences, and training sessions, keeping up-to-date with modern trends in education and science, which contributes to the improvement of the teaching process.

Thanks to the broad scope of the Department’s activities and the combination of all forms of educational, practical, and scientific work, students gain comprehensive knowledge and skills, enabling them to solve real-world problems in a transforming economy.
