Turku University of Applied Sciences

The Double Degree program within the framework of academic mobility between KhAI and Turku University of Applied Sciences (Turku UAS) is one of the most dynamic within the European Erasmus+ program. The cooperation focuses on combining the profound theoretical foundation of the Ukrainian engineering school with the Finnish practice-oriented "Innovation Pedagogy" approach.

Turku University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest technical universities in Finland, training specialists for the innovative sector of the economy. Cooperation with KhAI is centered on IT technologies, cybersecurity, and embedded systems.

Study Models:

"3+1" Scheme (for Bachelor students): Students study for 3 years in Ukraine and 1 year (final year) in Finland. The graduation thesis is completed and defended at Turku UAS.

"1+1" Scheme (for Master students): One year of study at KhAI and one year in Turku, which includes intensive internship placement in Finnish technology companies.

Priority Specializations:

Computer Science and Software Engineering;

Cybersecurity and Network Technologies;

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT);

Embedded Systems and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Features of the Finnish Education System:

Innovation Pedagogy: Learning by solving real-world business cases. Students often work in multidisciplinary teams on actual projects.

Laboratory Base: Access to modern research centers, such as the Cyber Test Lab and Radio Technology Lab.

Language of Instruction: English (required level – at least B2).

Financial Conditions:

Most mobility programs with Turku UAS are funded by Erasmus+ KA1 grants, which provide:

- a monthly stipend (approximately 800–900 euros per month, depending on the grant conditions);

- coverage of travel expenses (a one-time payment for tickets);

- no tuition fees at the Finnish university.

Requirements for Candidates:

Be a 2nd or 3rd-year Bachelor student or a 1st-year Master student at KhAI.

High level of English proficiency (confirmed by internal testing or a certificate).

No academic failures and a high Grade Point Average (GPA).

Possession of a portfolio or experience in research projects (will be an advantage).
