As of 2026, Riga Technical University (RTU) remains one of the strongest strategic partners for Ukrainian technical higher education institutions, thanks to shared interests in aviation, telecommunications, and high-tech project management.
Technical Details of the Stay in Riga:
Language of Instruction: Exclusively English (B2 level is required, confirmed by a university certificate or an international test).
Accommodation: RTU offers places in renovated dormitories (Campus Ķīpsala), with costs ranging from 150 to 250 euros per month.
Digital Integration: In 2026, all processes (document submission, course selection, receiving grades) take place through the RTU ORTUS system, which students can access even before arrival.
Students can expect a scholarship (approximately 800–900 euros per month) and coverage of travel expenses.
The funding decision is made only after the student's application is reviewed by the partner university. Before registering, be sure to check the available courses offered by the universities. If your specialty is not available, you cannot participate in the program.
The first stage is English language testing, and based on the results, successful candidates will be recommended for the mobility program.
General Requirements for Candidates:
- Proficiency in English at a high level (desired level - B2);
- High academic standing (cumulative average grade for all semesters not lower than 80).
Specific Requirements:
- Only Ukrainian KhAI students (both female and male) who are CURRENTLY enrolled in the 1st–3rd years of Bachelor's studies or the 5th year of Master's studies (provided it is a 2-year program) may participate;
- Ukrainian students of technical, humanitarian, and economic specialties can take part in the selection (provided your discipline is available at the partner university);
- Please note that you must already have an international passport at the time of selection.
Additional Information for Male Students:
Only the following categories may participate:
- Must be under 23 years of age at the time of crossing the border (September 2026);
- Based on the results of the two most recent semesters, must have no failing grades or recorded retakes of tests and exams.
According to the program, students will study during the autumn semester at the university and receive a monthly scholarship (+ travel grant).
