The integration of young Ukrainian scientists and specialists into the European and global community is an urgent need of our time. Various pathways exist to achieve this goal, one of which is training students through joint programs and close collaboration with leading specialized universities worldwide. The idea of KhAI students studying at the Polytechnic University of Turin originated in 2008 during a visit to Italy by the Rector of KhAI, Volodymyr Stanislavovych Kryvtsov. That same year, a framework project for such cooperation was signed. After detailed preparation, a general agreement establishing the foundations for joint training was approved in 2010. According to the approved plan, students study for two years at the National Aerospace University and then for two years at the Polytechnic University of Turin, where upon graduation, they receive the qualification and diploma of a European Bachelor in "Aerospace Engineering." Simultaneously with their studies in Italy, students continue their education at KhAI, studying the relevant disciplines and passing assessments and exams to also earn a Bachelor's qualification and a state-standard diploma of Ukraine.
Immediately after the signing of the general agreement, preparation began for all students wishing to study in Italy. A specific feature of this education is that the disciplines are taught exclusively in Italian. Therefore, Italian language study groups were formed at our university. The total number of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year students attending these groups exceeds 120, and the number of applicants has remained steady for the second consecutive year. The selection of students for the opportunity to study at the Polytechnic University of Turin is conducted on a competitive basis, taking into account Italian language proficiency and overall academic performance throughout their entire period of study at KhAI.
Upon completing their studies at both the Polytechnic University of Turin and KhAI, bachelors have the option to continue their education and earn a Master's degree either in Ukraine or abroad.
Holding two diplomas simultaneously, combined with the experience of living in a European society, provides opportunities for free employment both at Ukrainian enterprises and at leading aviation companies abroad.
