In 2010, a Framework Agreement on the development of academic and scientific research was concluded between the National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute" (hereinafter KhAI) and Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany (hereinafter OvGU).
In 2011, an agreement was signed for the Ukrainian-German Double Degree Program, leading to a Bachelor's degree in Logistics between KhAI and OvGU. Within the framework of this program, students of the department, namely Marharyta Khlypina (2013), Pavlo Lysenko (2014), and Bohdan Tolostoy (2015), were sent to study at the University of Magdeburg. The topics of the diploma theses for students participating in the Ukrainian-German Double Degree Program were discussed in advance to ensure that their results contribute to the scientific research conducted in both Kharkiv and Magdeburg.
One of the prominent events in the field of logistics in Europe is the annual international conference organized by Otto von Guericke University in cooperation with the Institute of Logistics and Material Handling Systems (ILM) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation (IFF). These conferences bring together scientists and business leaders from Eastern and Western Europe. Since 2013, the department's staff have consistently participated in the Magdeburg Logistics Days and presented their research reports.
