Project goal and objectives:
- establish and equip 6 Knowledge Transfer Units (KTUs) across all partner country universities in the first half of the project implementation, which will serve as technology transfer structures and data sources for interdisciplinary curriculum module development;
- modernize and develop the curriculum by modifying existing / developing new practice-oriented modules and implementing them across all partner country universities in the second half of the project implementation as a result of KTUs' activities;
- foster partnerships with enterprises and advance the knowledge triangle: education–research–innovation.
Project activity areas:
- development of the KTU strategy based on the experience and best practices of EU partners, building upon existing tools at respective partner country universities, if any;
- establishment of KTUs;
- procurement of equipment for KTUs;
- recruitment of staff for KTUs;
- training of KTU staff;
- development of specific action plans and business plans for all KTUs;
- development of tools and services for each KTU and their application in real pilot projects;
- development of educational curricula based on materials obtained from enterprises within the framework of cooperation under KTU projects;
- quality control and monitoring of KTUs;
- development of a financial sustainability plan for the project;
- dissemination of project results to all stakeholders.
Achieved results:
1. KTU strategy based on the experience and best practice examples of EU partners, building upon existing mechanisms at respective partner country universities.
2. KTUs established in partner country universities on the basis of existing relevant centers (e.g., technology, innovation centers), enabling them to build interactions with other university administrative bodies, making the establishment process faster and easier, as well as utilizing already established strategies.
3. All KTUs equipped with core office machinery and rapid prototyping technology (RPT); throughout this process, they were supported and consulted by EU partners (including technical specifications and feedback).
4. KTU staff selected in accordance with specifications and requirements defined by the project coordinator, incorporating feedback from all EU and partner country partners.
