The Estonian Research Council (ETAG) has launched a travel and cooperation grant scheme to support the integration of Ukrainian higher education and research institutions into the European Research Area (ERA) and to enhance their participation in the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation "Horizon Europe".
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES:
- to develop international and long-term Estonian-Ukrainian research partnerships;
- to support the preparation of project proposals for Horizon Europe calls and encourage joint participation in relevant calls;
- to strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian higher education institutions and research organizations in research management and grant application preparation.
WHAT CAN THE GRANT BE USED FOR?
- participation in in-person matchmaking/partner search events under the Horizon Europe Programme held in EU Member States and associated countries;
- short-term visits to Estonia to develop a joint project proposal and/or participate in an international scientific event held in Estonia.
WHO CAN APPLY?
- applicants can be Ukrainian higher education institutions and research organizations of any legal form and ownership, registered and operating in Ukraine.
Eligible participants:
- Ukrainian researchers;
- staff involved in proposal preparation and implementation of relevant projects.
The applicant and grant recipient is the Ukrainian institution that submitted the application.
GRANT AMOUNT AND ELIGIBLE COSTS
The maximum support amount is €1,500 per participant.
The grant is provided as reimbursement for actual, documented, and eligible costs incurred, including:
- flight, train, and bus tickets;
- local transport;
- accommodation;
- visa expenses;
- travel insurance;
- registration or organizational fees;
- daily subsistence allowance (up to €75 per day).
HOW TO APPLY?
Applications for participation:
- are submitted in English using the application form;
- should be sent to [email protected];
- are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis until the eligibility period ends or available funds are exhausted.
The grant can be used to participate in eligible events taking place until October 15, 2027.
