The objects of professional activity of graduates of this specialty include institutions and infrastructure that ensure the creation, dissemination, accumulation, storage, archiving, and access to information and knowledge in any format; theories, processes, technologies, and standards that facilitate the formation, maintenance, and use of information resources of institutions, libraries, and archives; theories, processes, technologies, and standards for the creation of information resources; information retrieval systems; and the promotion of information resources on the Internet.
The purpose of the program is to train specialists capable of solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of information, library, and archival studies, or in the course of training, characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions, and involving the application of principles and methods of information, library, and archival studies. Graduates are also expected to be able to address complex tasks and problems related to the functioning of information, library, and archival activities, including those that involve conducting research and/or implementing innovations and are characterized by uncertainty of conditions and requirements.
Training is provided by the Department of Documentation Studies and the Ukrainian Language (Department No. 706).
