The objective of the "AMBEC" project is to develop a reliable and experimentally validated methodology for calculating heat transfer coefficients and fluid distribution in various zones of the main shaft bearing chamber for a new generation of gas turbine engines. The methodology will be validated on an experimental test rig and will be used to improve the design of compact bearing chambers in high-temperature environments. Within the project, KhAI works alongside the leading European engine manufacturing company SAFRAN and Ukrainian partners Motor Sich and Ivchenko-Progress. The AMBEC project is part of the Clean Sky 2 Joint Undertaking.
