The objects of activity for graduates of this specialty are institutions and infrastructure that ensure the creation, distribution, accumulation, storage, archiving, and access to information and knowledge in any format; theories, processes, technologies, and standards that contribute to the formation, maintenance, and use of information resources of institutions, libraries, and archives; theories, processes, technologies, and standards for creating information resources; information retrieval systems; and the promotion of information resources on the Internet.

The goal of training is to prepare specialists capable of solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of information, library, and archival affairs, both in professional practice and during the educational process. These tasks are characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions, requiring the application of principles and methods of information, library, and archival science, as well as the ability to solve complex problems in the functioning of information, library, and archival systems, involving research and/or innovation under uncertain conditions and requirements.
