Internal Quality Assurance System

The internal educational quality assurance system of the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” is a set of interconnected internal processes aimed at organizing the educational process in the educational institution that meets higher education standards, ensures high-quality higher education for individuals, and promotes the creation of new knowledge.

The internal quality assurance system for educational activities and higher education of the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” has been developed in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” dated July 1, 2014, No. 1556-VII (as amended) and taking into account the requirements of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).

The internal quality assurance system for educational activities and higher education of the University is aimed at:

- providing high-quality educational services that comply with current legislative and regulatory documents in the field of higher education, as well as meet modern requirements and needs of national and international labor markets;

- orienting University staff towards improving the quality of educational services and supporting the effective functioning of the system.

The internal quality assurance system for educational activities and higher education of the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” consists of the following:

1) defining principles and procedures for higher education quality assurance:

- development strategy of KhAI;

- regulations on planning and conducting internal audit;

- regulations on student self-government;

- regulations on ensuring the right of students to choose elective courses and the procedure for forming a student’s individual study plan;

code of ethics;

regulations on the academic integrity committee;

regulations on academic integrity;

regulations on ensuring the right of PhD students to choose elective courses and the procedure for forming a PhD student’s individual study plan;

code of academic integrity and ensuring its compliance;

regulations on the academic integrity promotion group;

regulations on the procedure for checking academic and scientific texts for uniqueness.

2) monitoring and periodic review of educational programs;

3) annual evaluation of higher education students, academic and teaching staff of the higher education institution, and regular publishing of the results of such evaluations on the official website of the higher education institution, on information boards, and in any other manner;

4) ensuring professional development for teaching, scientific, and academic staff:

- regulations on rating evaluation of the activities of academic staff, departments, and faculties

- Annex G4 to the Collective Agreement "Regulations on the professional mastery competition ‘Ikari KhAI’ of the National Aerospace University ‘Kharkiv Aviation Institute’";

5) ensuring the availability of necessary resources for organizing the educational process, including independent study of students, for each educational program;

6) ensuring the availability of information systems for effective management of the educational process;

7) ensuring publicity of information about educational programs, higher education degrees, and qualifications;

8) ensuring compliance with academic integrity by higher education institution staff and students, including the creation and operation of an effective system for preventing and detecting academic plagiarism:

- regulations on academic integrity;

- regulations on the academic integrity committee.

9) other procedures and measures:

- regulations on the admissions committee

- regulations on rating evaluation of student achievements in educational components

- regulations on the establishment and organization of the examination (qualification) committee.

The internal quality assurance system for educational activities and higher education of the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” is regulated by the regulations on the quality assurance system for educational activities and higher education and operates within the general quality management system of the University, which is regulated by the regulations on the quality management system.

The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs is responsible for the implementation and compliance with the requirements of the internal quality assurance system for educational activities and higher education quality at the University.
