Technical Creativity Club “Da Vinci Kids”

National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute" invites cooperation in popularizing aerospace engineering and participation in technical creativity clubs for school and college students across Ukraine who are interested in the engineering of the future and achieving high creative results in the most promising fields of mechanical engineering, transport, and complex electromechanical systems.

We are pleased to announce the creation of the technical creativity club “Children of Da Vinci”, operating on the University campus and uniting school students from Kharkiv. Branches of the club also function in several secondary schools in other towns of Kharkiv and other regions.

The 2026 program includes discussions of the most significant discoveries and inventions of human civilization, introduction to the works of prominent engineers and scientists, conducting physical experiments, studying natural laws, and hands-on participation in creating models of aircraft, machines, and transport systems. Even younger schoolchildren gain practical knowledge useful for future studies in physics and other exact sciences, as well as the development of mathematical thinking.

Leading academic staff, instructors, athletes – aeromodellers, and graduate students serve as teachers and mentors. Club members have the opportunity to visit the University’s educational and scientific laboratories, including the KhAI Aeromodelling Laboratory, and to explore aircraft created by winners and prizewinners of world and European championships – students and staff of the University. Members actively participate in competitions for designing machines and mechanical devices, with winners receiving diplomas and prizes.

The club provides access to a cloud-based video library of Ukrainian- and English-language popular science films, an electronic library of global scientific and technical literature, and books on aviation and space exploration via QR codes. Models and prototypes created by participants remain the property of their authors as a memento of their involvement.

In parallel with club activities, students can join the Light Aviation Pilots Club, where participants learn the basics of aircraft design and principles of flight, as well as how to operate quadcopters and radio-controlled airplanes. Since January, the Club’s training grounds have been open at the KhAI indoor arena and in the territory of the Vysochanska community. Flight training programs prepare the University team to participate in competitions dedicated to KhAI Day.

Join the ranks of sky conquerors and the cohort of aircraft and rocket creators capable of bringing glory to our country and the Ukrainian people!
