The national amateur brass band of the National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute" has a glorious history.
Music has always been loved at Kharkiv Aviation Institute, so one of the first "subdivisions" of the Kharkiv Aviation Institute rightfully became the wind ensemble, string ensemble and choir.

Thus, the history of the KhAI brass band is the history of the National Aerospace University.
People's student orchestra of KhAI
It is worth noting that not a single solemn event in the nearly 90-year history of the Khai has passed without the participation of the orchestra. Many well-known graduates of Khai Khai became his students - among them Chief Designers, Chief Engineers, famous scientists.
Suffice it to say that the rector of KhAI (1998-2017) V.S. Kryvtsov, as a student, also played in the orchestra.
Managers changed, the composition changed. In its current form, the orchestra was recreated in 2001 at the initiative of the rectorate of KhAI.
Over the years, the orchestra's performance level has grown from the classical brass repertoire (simple marches, waltzes) to complex jazz works of the world stage with improvisational performances by soloists.
Andrii Kindratovych Tverdiy, the initiator of the creation and head of the orchestra, made a huge contribution to this trend. He was helped in this by the trumpeter and conductor of the orchestra, a graduate of the KhAI Oleksandr Yuriyovich Beloborodov, bringing modern and author's arrangements to the repertoire.
In 2015, the baton of the orchestra leader was accepted by a graduate of the Khai Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the tubist of the orchestra Maksym Yuriyovich Nagirnyi, and the conductor's console by a graduate of the university, clarinetist Artem Olegovich Slobodyanyuk.
The orchestra regularly participates in national and international wind music festivals.
