The prize is awarded for outstanding achievements in the field of natural, technical and humanities, which contribute to the further development of science, social progress and confirm the high authority of domestic science in the world (including the topics of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine).
It is awarded to citizens of Ukraine. Scientific works published in a completed form no less than a year before their nomination may be nominated for the prize.
Up to forty prizes in the amount of 210 thousand hryvnias each are awarded annually (the version of the regulation “On the Prize of the President of Ukraine for Young Scientists” dated 01.01.2026, basis 981/2025).
Works for which their performers have already been awarded state awards of Ukraine are not nominated for the prize.
