Forms of Work and Main Principles of Organizing the Psychological Service:

Psychological Counseling

Psychological counseling involves interaction between a psychologist and students, during which the problem is identified, ways to solve it are discussed, new behavioral models are formed, and the student receives psychological support and emotional relief. A consultation usually lasts 50–60 minutes. If further individual counseling is needed, meetings can be scheduled weekly, twice a week, or at another interval depending on necessity. All decisions regarding further counseling are agreed upon jointly between the student and the psychologist. The time for the first meeting can be arranged via email, phone, or in person with the psychologist. The psychologist adheres to professional ethical standards regarding the confidentiality of information.

Online Counseling

Questions can be asked and answered by the psychologist via email at [email protected] or by phone at +380 96 292 1663.

Psychological Diagnostics (Individual and Group)

Psychodiagnostic work involves conducting various methods, tests, and questionnaires to identify individual characteristics, interpersonal relationships, intellectual abilities, and more.

Psychocorrective Work

Psychocorrective work involves tactful intervention in the mental and personal development processes of a student to correct deviations in these processes, often impacting not only the individual but their broader interactions.

Psychoprophylactic Work

Psychoprophylactic work includes measures aimed at maintaining psychological health, timely prevention of deviations in interpersonal relationships, avoidance of conflict situations in the educational process, and prevention of substance abuse, alcoholism, or immoral behavior.

Educational/Outreach Work

Educational work involves explaining relevant psychological issues and enhancing the psychological literacy of students. This takes place during:

- meetings with student groups (for example, during advisor hours),

- informational talks, lectures, and roundtable discussions on psychological topics for students.

Psychocorrective, educational, and psychoprophylactic work is also conducted in the form of socio-psychological trainings. Psychological trainings provide participants with the opportunity to acquire psychological knowledge, skills, and abilities that allow them to address personal problems, improve interactions with others, make life more effective overall, and apply acquired knowledge in their professional activities. Trainings are held during advisor hours, upon request by participants (students, student government representatives, advisors, faculty, or university administration), and also on the initiative of the psychological service (relevant announcements are posted on the university website and notice boards).
