The future is not created when it is convenient, but when we are ready to fight for it. And Kharkiv science continues this intellectual battle every day, shaping the space of our stability.
This was once again confirmed by the National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute". On May 27, 2026, despite constant worries and already the fifth year of the grueling war, the XXVII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Man, Culture, Technology in the New Millennium" was held here.
For 27 years in a row, the department of document studies and information activities has been its driving force - a team that, even in the darkest times, continues to light the beacon of humanitarian meanings, not allowing war to destroy the space of professional dialogue and scientific communication.
Today, science has no right to silence. On the contrary, right now, in the era of unprecedented challenges, the issues of preserving cultural memory, information security, and digital ethics sound more acute than ever. This year's conference was not just an academic event, but a real act of intellectual resistance. It united those who hold the information and cultural front: scientists, teachers, library specialists, young researchers from all over Ukraine.
Opening the event, the rector of the university Oleksii LYTVYNOV voiced the opinion that became the leitmotif of the meeting: the main value of the conference is people. Our unique ability to rally around knowledge, share warmth, and support each other just when it's needed most.
Words of deep respect and faith in the future of Ukrainian science were also expressed by the vice-rector for scientific work Svitlana DOMBROVSKA, dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Law Iryna TUR and honored guests of the conference: Yuliya POLOVINCHAK - deputy general director for scientific work of the Ukrainian National University of Science and Technology, as well as Alla SOLYANIK - vice-rector for scientific work of the KhDAK.
The plenary session turned into a pulsating center of ideas. Speakers touched on vital topics: from open science and digital transformation of libraries to information security as a shield during war and preservation of cultural heritage of Ukraine.
A sense of continuity of tradition created a special, poignant atmosphere. Despite the change of eras, technologies and whirlpools of social upheavals, the conference remains more than just a platform for discussions. It is a living place of strength, where support is born, new meanings are formed and they firmly know: the future belongs to those who continue to think, create and act - no matter what.
