On May 27, within the framework of the National Week of Barrier-Freeness, the webinar "Culture of human-centered communication" was held in the safe shelter of the KhAI.
The speaker of the event was Olga BAKULINA, the ambassador of barrier-freeness of the All-Ukrainian social change campaign "Barrier-free is when you can", initiated by Olena Zelenska, and the adviser on inclusion of people with disabilities of the Coordination Humanitarian Center.
During the meeting, they talked about how to build communication, in the center of which is a person, his dignity, needs and right to be heard. The participants discussed the principles of human-centered communication, the importance of ethical interaction and the creation of a barrier-free environment, not only physical, but also communication.
Particular attention was paid to the practical aspects of inclusive communication in education, everyday life and society in general. It was about respecting each person's experience, interacting appropriately, and how words and attitudes can either help or create barriers.
The webinar became a space for open dialogue, important questions and honest conversation about a culture of mutual respect, support and equality.
It is thanks to such meetings, open conversations and joint discussions that a culture is born in which the person and his dignity always remain in the center of attention.
