Ukraine is once again making waves at the highest level of world aeromodelling. Oleksii Kosylo, a student at the aircraft construction faculty of the National Aerospace University “KhAI”, has retained his title as the world's strongest junior in the F1B class for the third year in a row, winning another World Cup gold medal.
During his junior career, Oleksii has won four World Cup gold medals:
- three in the F1B class,
- one in the F1P class.
He was the last winner of the World Cup in the F1P class, forever engraving his name in the history of timer models.
International recognition and a unique achievement.
In 2025, Oleksii confidently made a name for himself in the F1A class, becoming one of the five strongest juniors in the world. At a young age, he conquered three classes of free-flying model aircraft at once — F1A, F1B, and F1P, which is a record achievement for Ukraine and a unique fact in the history of national model aircraft sports.
Oleksii Kosylo has repeatedly become the world and European champion in team competitions, as well as a prize winner in individual championships, consistently demonstrating a high level of training at the most prestigious international competitions.
At the age of 18, the athlete moved to the adult category and entered the top 10 best athletes in the world in 2025 in the F1B class. He is a member of the Ukrainian national team, holds leading positions in the world F1A and F1B rankings, and today combines top-level sports with his studies at the Kharkiv Aviation Institute, shaping the future of Ukrainian aviation engineering.
Oleksii Kosylo is a graduate of the Leonid Kadenyuk Central Children's and Youth Technical Center's model aircraft club. In 2023, the institution became a scholarship recipient of Leonid Kuchma's Ukraine Presidential Fund, which recognized the achievements of its students—winners of world and European model aircraft championships.
