This is the day when we remember those who, without hesitation or doubt, without waiting for orders, stood up to defend their native land.
People who could have stayed home and lived an ordinary life… But made a different choice — the choice of honor, conscience, and true devotion to the Motherland.
They became the shield of Ukraine in the darkest times.
The date of March 14 was not chosen by chance.
It was on this day in 2014, when the shadow of war was already hanging over Ukraine, that the first 500 volunteers — fighters of the Maidan Self-Defense — set off from the center of the capital to the training base in Novi Petrivtsi.
Thus began the story of the first volunteer battalions who stood up to defend the country, having nothing but an indomitable spirit and great love for their native land.
Eight years have passed.
And with the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022, thousands of Ukrainians once again joined the ranks of the defenders.
Faculty, students, and employees of KhAI were among those who were among the first to leave their homes to take up arms.
To defend their country.
Their families.
Their future.
Their feat is a living legend of courage, self-sacrifice, and true love for the Motherland.
GLORY TO UKRAINIAN VOLUNTEERS!
GLORY TO UKRAINE!
