January 25. Sunday. But life is in full swing at the KhAI Sports Complex!
Running enthusiasts of the hero city of Kharkiv of all ages and professions gathered to take part in the annual winter track and field race “Through the Snow”.
Traditionally, the competition is held by the sports arena of the National Aerospace University “KhAI” and the Department of Physical Education, Sports and Rehabilitation.
This year, winter has prepared real surprises: the temperature is –10–12 °C, and the cold wind added challenges to the participants. But can such trifles stop Kharkiv residents?
Of course not! Runners covered the traditional distances of 10 and 20 km, demonstrating willpower and love for sports.
One of the organizers of the race, Denis Vinnikov, multiple prize-winner of the Ukrainian Championship in Highway Running among Veterans, Candidate of Technical Sciences, employee of the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology, noted: "We are holding the traditional race "Through the Snow", dedicated to sports, a healthy lifestyle and our native Kharkiv. The goal of the event is to support athletes in good shape, maintain their competitive spirit and inspire young people to an active life."
All athletes who started and finished received commemorative medals and gifts.
The organizers and participants of the race sincerely thanked the National Aerospace University "KhAI" and personally the acting rector Oleksii Lytvynov for the opportunity to hold a sports event within the walls of the university.
As Denis Vinnikov traditionally concluded the competition: "We sincerely thank all participants, all judges, all fans and everyone who was with us that day! We urge everyone, despite the difficult times, to do sports – run, smile, and believe in the best!
