The KhAI aviation model team returned from the international competition in Warsaw. And although this time our athletes did not climb the podium, the performance itself was an important victory - of experience, character and professional growth.
About 50 athletes took part in the tournament, including more than 20 of the strongest modelers in Europe. The competition was extremely high.
- Oleksiy Igoshyn and Mykola Tkachuk showed a strong result - they set their own records and took 7th and 10th places, respectively.
- Mykola Vasylkov performed steadily and demonstrated his standard results - 18th place. In the final round, he had a chance to significantly improve his position, but the model broke during launch.
- Yuriy Chaika took 25th place. His performance was complicated by circumstances: due to a train delay, the athlete arrived at the hall just half an hour before the start, so he simply did not have time to adapt to the flight conditions.
At the same time, participation in the competition gave much more than just results in the table.
The F1N indoor glider class is rapidly gaining popularity in Europe. This makes it possible to involve children in aircraft modeling from an early age, forming future engineers and aviators.
During the competition, representatives of Khai spoke with the team leaders of Lithuania, Latvia and Poland - countries that have been actively developing this direction for over ten years and are its leaders.
They discussed:
- exchange of experience in training young athletes;
- technical solutions in the manufacture of models;
- prospects for further cooperation.
And symbolically: if at first they met us with some trepidation, then they saw us off with respect - as equal competitors.
And this means the main thing: the Khai aircraft modeling laboratory continues to confidently return to the international arena. This is experience, development and new wings.
