Day 1415 of the full-scale invasion.
For a long time now, the dormitories of the Kharkiv Aviation Institute have been home to internally displaced persons from frontline towns and villages in the Kharkiv region. This is the reality in which the country lives. And the reality in which our university lives.
Our task is to support everyone who needs attention, care, and decent living conditions.
At the end of last year, another important step in this daily work was taken thanks to our long-standing partners, Solidarités International.
Solidarités International is a French humanitarian organization that has been working in Ukraine since February 2022, helping people affected by the war, in particular by restoring housing and creating safe and comfortable living conditions.
Together with the management of the Kharkiv Aviation Institute and the administration of the Student City, the object of assistance was determined — the KhAI-12 dormitory, where families of internally displaced persons from the border areas of the Kharkiv region currently live.
With the support of the CDCS donor, Solidarités International has provided construction and repair materials to renovate the bathrooms and living rooms of the dormitory
(6B Elektroinstrumentalna Street), including:
- boilers;
- ceramic tiles;
- paint and varnish materials;
- putty mixtures and cement;
- pipes and fittings.
The aid received will help improve sanitary and hygienic conditions, provide hot water supply, and increase the comfort and safety of people who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.
The National Aerospace University “KhAI” sincerely thanks the Solidarités International team and personally Serhiy Bayev, who continues the traditions of the glorious KhAI family, for their support and real contribution to caring for internally displaced persons.
