At the Department of Cyber Security and Intelligent Information Technologies of the KhAI (No. 503), the thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in specialty 123 "Computer Engineering" was successfully defended.
Stanislav SKOROBOGATKO presented his dissertation on "Models and software for assessing the reliability of hybrid sensor networks of monitoring systems of potentially dangerous areas." Academic supervisor — Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Herman FESENKO.
The study is dedicated to increasing the reliability of modern monitoring systems of forest resources and other environmental objects. Structural and reliable models of hybrid sensor networks that combine terrestrial stationary sensors and swarms of unmanned aerial vehicles are developed in the work. The proposed models take into account the performance of individual components and the level of completeness of monitoring functions.
The author also developed analytical and simulation models for assessing the reliability of sensor networks taking into account fatal combinations of sensor failures, as well as models for assessing the readiness of systems with the possibility of their recovery. The practical result of the research was a software complex for assessing the reliability and predicting the operation of monitoring systems.
Official opponents and reviewers noted the high level of scientific novelty, the validity of the obtained results and the practical significance of the research for the creation of modern monitoring systems of potentially dangerous areas.
