In the modern world, higher education has long gone beyond classrooms and notes. Today, employers expect young professionals not only to have theoretical knowledge, but also to have real practical experience. That is why dual education is becoming one of the key areas of university development: it allows students to simultaneously study and work in their specialty, better understand their future profession, and more quickly adapt to the demands of the labor market.
On May 21, Andriy HUMENNY, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work of the National Aerospace University “KhAI” and Eleonora DARMOFAL, Director of the Center for Education Quality, Licensing, and Accreditation, took part in the seminar “Dual Education: Experience, Evaluation, Challenges,” organized by the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education at Khmelnytskyi National University.
During the seminar, the participants talked about how the dual education system in Ukraine is changing today, what new challenges universities face, and how to adapt educational programs to the modern needs of the labor market. Special attention was paid to cooperation between higher education institutions and employers - after all, it is this interaction that gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience while studying.
Panel discussions discussed real cases of implementing dual education, the features of organizing the educational process directly at enterprises, as well as criteria for assessing the quality of educational programs during accreditation.
A separate part of the event was a master class by the Deputy Head of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education Olena YEREMENKO - "Methodology of evaluating higher education in 2026/2027 academic year: challenges of "new" codes". Participants got acquainted with updated approaches to evaluating educational programs and received practical recommendations on preparing for accreditation procedures.
For KhAI, participation in such professional events is an opportunity not only to borrow modern experience, but also to improve its own educational programs, develop dual education, and make training even closer to the real needs of modern industry.
