On April 30, 2026, the National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute" hosted a scientific and practical conference "Legal Principles of Sustainability and Sustainable Development of Aviation Enterprises and Critical Infrastructure Facilities". It brought together leading scientists, engineers and international experts - those who work at the intersection of security, technology and law today.
In his welcoming speech, the rector of KhAI Oleksii LYTVYNOV emphasized a simple but harsh reality: during war, the protection of critical infrastructure - from energy and telecommunications facilities to aviation enterprises - becomes a matter of national security. And at the same time, Khai continues to work: despite losses and destruction, the university adapts teaching and science to new conditions.
International experience was also discussed. Cooperation with European partners, in particular experts from France and Latvia, allows integrating modern digital security strategies into the domestic regulatory framework.
After the discussions, the participants formulated specific proposals: how to strengthen cyber defense, how to make life support facilities more resilient, how to adapt international standards to wartime conditions. These developments should become the basis for strengthening national security, adapting international standards to wartime conditions, and forming a strategy for the post-war restoration of the aviation industry.
The conference once again showed that when scientists, practitioners, and international partners work together, it is a real contribution to building a strong and technological state.
