Restoration of the century: how KhAI creates safe spaces for learning on its own

Restoration of the century: how KhAI creates safe spaces for learning on its own

The building of the Aircraft Engineering Faculty of KhAI is one of the oldest buildings of the university. It will soon be a hundred years old. Someday, historians will certainly write a separate page about its ancient shelters, which for the second time in the almost century-old history of KhAI have helped the university survive bad times.

Over the past year, two modern, comfortable rows of safe space have already been opened here, where students study today, teachers and scientists work. Currently, the reconstruction of the third row of shelters is underway.

As has become a good tradition of KhAI during the war, all work is carried out exclusively by the university. Moreover, many works that previously had to be ordered from third-party organizations have been mastered by KhAI specialists over the years on their own. Designing, installing and launching modern ventilation systems, without which the full functioning of shelters in almost century-old basements is impossible, is just one such example.

Work is in full swing here from morning to evening. New engineering networks, power supply and communication systems are emerging, communications are being laid, structures are being installed, walls are being leveled, future classrooms, laboratories and places for learning are being born. There is still a lot of work ahead, but every day this space is increasingly taking on the appearance of a modern university environment.

And this Sunday, Ukraine will celebrate Builder's Day.

So today, on the eve of the holiday, we want to say a simple but very sincere thank you to everyone who works at these facilities every day. To builders and engineers, welders and electricians, painters and plumbers, utility workers - to everyone who creates this difficult and at the same time heroic page of Khai's wartime life with their own hands.

It is thanks to you that the university does not stop. It continues to live, teach, research and build its future even in the most difficult times.

Happy upcoming Builder's Day, friends!

Thank you for every brick, every meter of cable, every weld, and every painted wall. It is from such seemingly invisible things that the future of KhAI is being built today.
