On April 22, the National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute" held a regular meeting of the Academic Council in a remote format, during which a wide range of issues covering key areas of the University's activities under martial law was considered.
During the meeting, a report was heard from the Vice-Rector for Administrative and Economic Activities Hennadii Derkachivskyi on the results of organizing the stable functioning of the University under military challenges, as well as information from the head of the primary trade union organization Yurii Pronchakov on the activities of the trade union committee, focused on material support for employees during the war period, along with the implementation of social initiatives aimed at the emotional recovery of the team. Considerable attention was paid to personnel issues, in particular, conducting a competition and electing heads and professors to the positions of department heads and professors.
The Academic Council adopted a number of important program decisions, including the approval of the University Development Strategy for 2026-2030, the updated version of the Code of Academic Integrity, as well as the Regulations regulating the protection of personal data, the training of applicants for the third level of higher education, and the functioning of the digital institutional repository.
A separate block considered the issue of educational activities, in particular the approval of updated educational-professional and educational-scientific programs of all levels of higher education, as well as the launch of new specialist training programs. A decision was made to rename the Department of Basic Military Training and make changes to the organizational structure of the University.
An important place on the agenda was occupied by issues of scientific activities, in particular, eleven one-time specialized academic councils were formed to defend dissertations of applicants for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Such a number of planned defenses is a clear indication of the systematic and effective work of postgraduate students, their scientific supervisors and specialized departments of the University. This confirms the high level of training of young scientists, the relevance and practical significance of their research, as well as the sustainable development of Khai scientific schools even in wartime conditions. In addition, the issue of recommendations for the publication of scientific works and monographs was considered, which contributes to the further dissemination of scientific research results and strengthening the authority of the University in the academic environment.
Despite the significant volume of issues on the agenda, which became perhaps the largest in terms of scale, the meeting lasted about an hour and a half and was held promptly and harmoniously, which once again testified to the high level of organization and systematic efficiency of the Academic Council.
