On January 21, 2026, the next meeting of the Academic Council of the National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute" was held in a remote format. The agenda was extremely rich and covered a wide range of strategically important issues, which were consistently and thoughtfully considered in a constructive working atmosphere.
We started with an extremely important issue - approval of the University's estimated indicators for 2026. The report of the Head of the Planning and Finance Department, Tetyana Bezpalova, outlined clear guidelines for financial stability, which is the foundation for the implementation of the University's strategic plans.
Next, we considered the issue of competitive selection and election to the positions of professors of the departments of aircraft production technology (No. 104), information and measurement systems and quality engineering (No. 303), economics and public administration (No. 601), and management and business administration (No. 602). According to the results of a secret ballot, candidates were selected who are true professionals in their field and have significant experience that invests in the quality of education and the scientific authority of the University.
An important stage of the meeting was the discussion and support of the scientific work of Associate Professor Oleksandr Shorinov regarding his nomination for the Igor Yukhnovsky Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
A significant block of decisions was devoted to the development of educational programs. The Academic Council approved the concepts and launch of advanced training programs in the field of cybersecurity, and also made a decision to launch new educational programs at the bachelor's and master's levels - from the design of unmanned aerial vehicles and agent-based intelligent systems to statistical data analysis and public administration in the field of security. This is a clear confirmation that KhAI not only responds to the challenges of the time, but also gets ahead of them.
A number of Regulations were adopted - on academic mobility, curators of academic groups, the Cossack education center, postgraduate studies, and the student design bureau. The Academic Council also approved the limits of academic scholarships, supported the candidacies of students and postgraduates for scholarships of the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and also adopted a decision on the publication of scientific journals and a special issue of a professional publication on law and security. This became an important signal of support for talented youth and scientific thought.
A wide range of personnel, scientific, and organizational decisions were adopted in "Rizny" - from changing scientific supervisors and re-approving dissertation topics to appointing heads of scientific areas in connection with mobilization.
At the end of the meeting, information was heard from the Chief Accountant Olena Kovaliv regarding the conclusion of an agreement between KhAI and LLC "KhAI EDUCATION", which provides for the implementation of organizational work on the selection, referral and support of students receiving educational services on the basis of the Agreement between KhAI and Shenyang Aerospace University. The report emphasized that such cooperation is extremely important in financial terms for the university, as it contributes to the stability of revenues and the development of international educational activities.
Despite the January frosts, difficult weather conditions, power outages and the challenges of wartime, the meeting of the Academic Council was held in a full-fledged working format. This once again demonstrated the indomitability of the university community, its ability to work, make strategic decisions and look to the future even in the darkest times. KhAI continues its path of development, preserving the light of knowledge, faith in Victory and confidence in the future!
