The National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” held a public defense of Oleksii PUSHYLIN’s dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
The topic of the dissertation research is “Method of substantiating the characteristics of the power system of a hybrid turboelectric power plant for a passenger aircraft”.
The scientific supervisor of the research is Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Vasyl LOGINOV.
Oleksii Pushylin is the head of the department of JSC “Ivchenko-Progress”, who studied at the graduate school of KhAI. In his dissertation work, he investigated the problem of choosing a rational degree of hybridization of aviation power plants that combine an internal combustion engine that runs on a mixture of traditional hydrocarbon fuel with hydrogen produced using fuel cells, and an electric engine.
The proposed solutions are aimed at increasing the efficiency of promising hybrid turboelectric power plants for passenger aviation.
The public defense of the dissertation was held in a mixed format. Based on the results of the discussion of the scientific work, the one-time specialized academic council decided to award Oleksii PUSHYLIN the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of knowledge 14 "Electrical Engineering" in the specialty 142 "Power Engineering".
