On February 9, the Department of Aerohydrodynamics of KhAI (No. 101) began this year's series of public dissertation defenses with the successful defense of graduate student Anton ZHUKOV, who received the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of knowledge 13 "Mechanical Engineering" in the specialty 134 "Aviation and Rocket and Space Engineering".
The topic of the dissertation work — "Optimization of mass-dimensional indicators of large DC machines" — is of applied nature and strategic importance for industry. The study developed approaches to increasing the efficiency and reducing the material consumption of high-power electric machines, which directly affects the competitiveness of products in the conditions of the modern engineering market.
The results of the scientific work were obtained at the Department of Aerohydrodynamics of KhAI and implemented in production at LLC "Kharkiv Electrical Machine-Building Plant", which confirms their practical value and technological readiness for application.
Scientific advisor — Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Oleksiy TRETYAK. Official opponents and members of the specialized academic council noted the high level of scientific novelty, the validity of the results obtained and the relevance of the topic for the aviation and energy industries of Ukraine.
The first defense of 2026 became convincing evidence of the preservation of the scientific traditions of KhAI, the development of the engineering school and the growth of the country's intellectual potential.
