On June 5, the public defense of Artem KARPENKO's dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) took place.
The topic of the research was "Using the phenomenon of separation of a swirling gas flow by temperature to improve the cooling of turbine rotor elements".
The defense was held in a mixed format with the participation of a one-time specialized academic council. Based on the results of professional discussion and evaluation of the presented research results, the council decided to award Artem KARPENKO the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of knowledge 14 "Electrical Engineering" in the specialty 142 "Power Engineering".
The scientific supervisor of the work was Professor of KhAI, General Designer and General Director of Ivchenko-Progress, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Ihor KRAVCHENKO.
Artem KARPENKO is a representative of the glorious galaxy of Zaporizhia engine builders - specialists who not only have a deep knowledge of the theory, but also know all the intricacies of the creation, testing and operation of modern aircraft engines. It is the combination of practical experience with scientific research that has made it possible to obtain results that are of great importance for the further development of domestic power and aviation engineering.
