On March 11, the city of Lyubotyn became another point on the map of the “Universe of Knowledge” project — a series of popular science meetings between teachers and scientists of the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” with schoolchildren of the Kharkiv region.
This time, the event took place at two locations in the city: in the safe space of the Karavansky preschool educational institution and in the Lyubotynsky Lyceum No. 2. In total, more than 50 high school students from the Lyubotyn community joined the meetings. It is especially pleasant that this time students from the Manchenkovskaya Secondary School joined the project for the first time.
The schoolchildren got acquainted with a model of an aircraft, models of gas turbine engines, parts of bladed machines and the operation of a 3D projector. They worked with a micrometer and a microscope, observed a sun tracking station and a model of a “smart house”.
Robotics attracted a lot of attention: students saw a bionic spider robot, a wheeled Mars rover, a robops, an omni-directional wheeled robot, as well as a humanoid robot with conversational artificial intelligence. The demonstrations were complemented by virtual reality glasses and interactive AR-painting.
The space theme was presented by a laboratory model of the CubeSAT satellite, a rocket, a liquid rocket engine and samples of products made of composite materials. The medical and technical direction was shown by a vascular visualizer, a pulse oximeter and the "Phasegraph" complex.
A shooting range with a pistol that uses electromagnetic energy to move the projectile, a portable printer, a banknote counter and a forensic suitcase aroused practical interest. In addition to technical demonstrations, students participated in two linguistic games and worked with educational literature.
The event was organized by the Education Department of the Lyubotyn City Council together with the Preparatory Department of Kharkiv Institute of Technology in cooperation with all faculties of the university with the assistance of the institution's management.
The "Universe of Knowledge" project continues its journey through the Kharkiv region, opening up modern engineering, science, and technology to schoolchildren - and proving that acquaintance with the future can begin simply in the school shelter.
