The other day, the National Aerospace University “KhAI” was especially sporty and inspired: the rector of the university, Oleksiy Lytvynov, met with our basketball stars — the women's team of BC “KhAI” and the students of the “Kharkiv Region National Team — KhAI — 2010”.
In the new modern protected space Open Sky, a warm and lively conversation took place about the season that has already become history, about the future, about character and love for basketball — even to the sounds of Kharkiv sirens.
Oleksii LYTVYNOV sincerely congratulated the girls on the completion of a difficult but bright basketball year and invited the athletes to become part of the big KhAI family as students.
The rector of KhAI spoke about the future of education, about the possibilities of the university, about how our protected educational space works today, how classes will be held and what prospects open up for KhAI students. They talked about the sky and space. About safety. About modern winged technologies that are created right here in Kharkiv.
The President of the Kharkiv Basketball Federation, Serhiy CHEBYSHEV, emphasized that basketball at Kharkiv Basketball Institute has a long-standing glorious tradition, its own school and a generation of athletes who have grown up under the banner of the university. And as a person entrusted with the development of Kharkiv basketball, he is glad to see that Kharkiv Basketball Institute does not just preserve these traditions, but helps the team move forward every day despite all external challenges.
The final and, perhaps, the most emotional performance was the performance of the head coach of BC “KhAI”, Honored Coach of Ukraine Eleonora CHEK. On behalf of the players and parents, she thanked the university and the Kharkiv Basketball Federation for their support, trust and for the fact that the team always feels a strong shoulder next to them.
And the results speak for themselves: this year, four junior teams and the main women's team performed under the flags of Kharkiv University, which worthily and until the end represented Kharkiv in the Ukrainian Championship among the teams of the Higher League.
