At the end of August, in Kropyvnytskyi, at the scientific and production enterprise Radiy, with which Kharkiv Aviation Institute has been cooperating for 20 years, a meeting of representatives of the enterprise, the Kharkiv Aviation Institute and the National Center for Nuclear Research in Poland (Narodowe Centrum Badań Jądrowych, NCBJ) took place.
Radiy was visited by the Director of Research at NCBJ, Professor Agnieszka POLLO (Warsaw - Otwock, Poland), a well-known scientist in the field of astrophysics and high technologies. The purpose of her visit was to get acquainted with the technological achievements, experience and products of the enterprise in the field of information and control systems (ICS) for nuclear power plants, as well as to discuss the prospects for cooperation in the context of the development of nuclear energy in Poland and plans for the construction of new nuclear facilities.
The meeting was facilitated by Vyacheslav KHARCHENKO, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Cybersecurity and Intelligent Information Technologies of KhAI, Director of the Scientific and Technological Center for Research and Analysis of Infrastructure Security.
KhAI has fruitful relations with NCBJ. Within the framework of this partnership, scientific and educational projects have been implemented, joint scientific and technical seminars have been held, and international projects have been implemented with Swedish colleagues and under the NATO program.
Representatives of the administration of Radiy and RadIcs companies joined the meeting. RadIcs Operations Director, Candidate of Technical Sciences Oleksandr IVASYUK, presented the company's activities, key technological solutions, and implemented projects in the field of digital control and management systems for nuclear power.
It is important that Oleksandr IVASYUK graduated from the KhAI and is preparing a doctoral dissertation in the field of functional and cybersecurity of information and control systems of nuclear power plants and small modular reactors.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to the prospects of scientific, technical and educational cooperation. The successful experience of interaction between KhAI and NCBJ can become the basis for new joint Ukrainian-Polish initiatives and projects involving the capabilities of European and national programs.
International cooperation in the field of nuclear technologies is of particular importance, because the safety of nuclear energy is not limited to the borders of individual states. The exchange of scientific knowledge, engineering experience and technological solutions, joint work on innovative projects and the training of highly qualified specialists contribute to increasing the reliability and safety of nuclear facilities.
