On February 26, a meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council was held in a mixed format at the National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute". The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, Professor Svitlana DOMBROVSKA.
The agenda covered a number of strategically important decisions for the university.
In particular, in connection with the dismissal of the head of the scientific and research department, Candidate of Technical Sciences Oleksandr SHMATKO, his powers were terminated and he was removed from the Scientific and Technical Council. At the same time, the deputy head of the Scientific and Technical Council was appointed to the position of the head of the scientific and research department, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Senior Researcher Oleksandr MINKO.
The introduction of the acting head of department No. 202, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Olga KLADOVA to the Scientific and Technical Council was also approved.
For the first time, deputy deans of faculties have been introduced into the NTR. This decision is aimed at strengthening the coordination of scientific work at faculties in priority areas of science and technology, primarily in the aerospace industry, taking into account the tasks defined by the State Targeted Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of the Aviation Industry for 2021–2030.
The council includes:
- Volodymyr BOLDOVSKYY — Deputy Dean of Faculty 1, Ph.D.;
- Anton ONOPCHENKO — Deputy Dean of Faculty 2, Ph.D.;
- Olena YASHYNA — Deputy Dean of Faculty 3, Ph.D.;
- Anatoliy POPOV — Deputy Dean of Faculty 5, Ph.D.;
- Maria DANOVA — Deputy Dean of Faculty No. 6, Associate Professor, Ph.D.
A separate issue was the approval of the list of topics of 17 fundamental and applied research projects that will be financed in 2026 from the state budget under the program classification code of expenditures 2201390 “Support for priority areas of scientific research and scientific and technical (experimental) developments, scientific and scientific and technical activities of higher education institutions and scientific institutions”.
The discussion also considered problematic issues of training postgraduate and doctoral students, their interaction with scientific supervisors and improving the preparation of reporting documentation.
The adopted decisions are aimed at strengthening the systematic scientific work of the university, increasing the efficiency of research management and strengthening the positions of KhAI as one of the leading aerospace science centers in the country.
