Astronomy lovers of KhAI from the StarFrontier circle reach new heights! After all, now a modern and powerful Sky-Watcher EQ6-R telescope has appeared at our university!
The participants of the astrogroup had a unique opportunity to be the first to see the telescope that had just arrived, as well as to assemble the device themselves! Unpacking, familiarization with the instructions, inspection of parts, assembly of the structure and connection to the power supply — active work under the leadership of candidate of technical sciences and curator of the circle Andrii POPOV.
The new — telescope is a lot of new features:
- choose the name of the planet or galaxy on the SynScan remote control, and the device itself returns to the desired point in the sky;
- use PPEC system for picture stability;
- get clear photos of space, because the telescope moves quietly, smoothly and without vibrations;
- control not only the telescope, but also the camera — connect the SLR to the mount;
- install almost any telescope tube using Vixen and Losmandy mounts.
The purchase of the device became possible thanks to the initiative of at. rector Oleksiy LYTVYNOV, who gladly volunteered to develop the astronomical direction at the university. We bought a telescope from the astronomy connoisseur — from Khmelnytskyi and entrepreneur Mykhailo BONDARENKO, he took an active part in choosing a model, taking into account the needs of the astronomical circle. Interesting is the fact that astronomy is — of Mykhailo's hobby, and a few years ago he set up a platform for observations and astrophotos in the yard of his own house. So, the idea of buying a telescope for astronomy lovers is very close to Mr. Mykhailo.
The telescope was assembled and disassembled in class, but there is a lot of work ahead! The new device must be learned to use, and this is a long and difficult process, because it is known that the way to the stars runs through thorns — «Per aspera ad astra»!
The astronomical circle of KhAI StarFrontier operates with the support of the management of the National Aerospace University «Kharkiv Aviation Institute».
