August is traditionally one of the most difficult months for the blood system. The period of vacations, trips and summer heat every year cause a significant decrease in donor activity.
But the need for blood has no holidays.
For the Kharkiv region, which lives and fights in war conditions every day, stable supplies of blood components are a matter of saving lives. They are critically needed to help wounded soldiers and civilians, to conduct urgent operations and planned treatment.
That is why the Ukrainian Transplant Coordination Center has launched an all-Ukrainian information campaign #IAmAnAugustDonor, in which the Kharkiv Regional Blood Service Center and the community of the National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute" are actively involved.
How to join and support the campaign?
We urge students, teachers, employees and graduates of Kharkiv Institute of Health not to wait for autumn or a "more convenient moment." If you are able to donate blood, do it now:
Donate blood at a convenient collection point for you.
Invite friends and colleagues to join the noble cause.
Share your example: take a photo during or after the donation and publish it on social networks with the hashtag #IamAugustDonor.
