Interview of the "TICK" team for the media "Sloboda Region"

Remember our winning news about the "TICK" team at the Brave1 challenge? The girls who taught FPV drones to "cling" to surfaces gave a great interview to the media "Sloboda region"!

KhAI students (group 110st) Olena Kyrzun and Tamara Siryk proved: Ukrainian engineering thought has no limits, even when work continues 24/7 to the sounds of sirens. Their development is not just a student project, but a real solution for the front, which has already interested manufacturers.

Why is their invention a game changer for aerial reconnaissance and what secrets does the name "TICK" hide?

Read in the interview with the Kharkiv regional media "Sloboda region".

4 key insights from the interview:

Why "TICK"? The team name is not only about speed. The paw mechanism makes a characteristic click when locked, similar to the sound of a clock (“tick-tock”). This became a symbol of the accuracy and reliability of their device.

Engineering sprint: development took place in the shortest possible time. It was a real challenge, where each solution was instantly tested for practicality. It was this pace that became the key to success.

Tactical advantage: the main feature of the “paws” is energy independence. The drone can land on a tree, concrete structure or roof, “catch” and turn off the engines. This allows it to wait for the target in ambush mode for hours without wasting battery power.

A ticket to the big Defense Tech: the girls didn’t just win a prize. The main result is an invitation to cooperation from a real manufacturer. Their prototype is planned to be refined and integrated into serial models that will go to the forefront.

This is the path from the training classroom to the real sector of the economy. This is exactly what modern engineering education at KhAI is like — when there are no unnecessary barriers between idea and production.
