On August 6, the opening of the International Scientific and Technical Seminar "Artificial Intelligence: Global Dialogue" took place - a new all-Ukrainian and international platform for discussing theoretical and applied problems of artificial intelligence, as well as the formation of key areas of development of AI technologies and systems. The seminar was initiated by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Department of Informatics of the NAS of Ukraine and the V. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics.
The seminar was headed by academicians of the NAS of Ukraine Oleksandr KHIMICH, Mykhailo ZGUROVSKYY, Oleksandr PALAGIN. Unfortunately, on the eve of the first meeting, one of the founders of the seminar - academician of the NAS of Ukraine Ivan SERGIENKO - passed away. The scientific community honored the memory of the outstanding mathematician and cybernetics, a representative of the world-famous Glushkov school of cybernetics.
The first scientific report of the seminar was presented by the Head of the Department of Cybersecurity and Intelligent Information Technologies (503) of KhAI, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Vyacheslav KHARCHENKO. The topic of the speech was “Guaranteed Artificial Intelligence Systems with Versioned Redundancy: Principles of Construction, Modeling and Implementation”.
The report was a continuation of the presentation of the research results of the KhAI Scientific School, which were already presented this year at the meetings of the Department of Informatics and the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine.
During the speech, the modern challenges of the security of artificial intelligence systems, the development of the concept of warrantable computing, models for assessing the quality of AI systems, scenarios of the confrontation “AI vs. AI”, features of machine training and retraining, as well as practical application of these approaches in unmanned intelligent systems and predictive analytics systems were considered.
The report sparked a lively professional discussion with the participation of leading scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Academicians and corresponding members of the NAS of Ukraine highly appreciated the research results of the scientific team of Department 503 of the KhAI.
The initiative to create the Institute of Guaranteed Artificial Intelligence Systems on the basis of the KhAI together with the institutes of the NAS of Ukraine received special support. The idea was previously approved by the rector of the KhAI, Professor Oleksii LYTVYNOV.
Within the framework of the development of the Regional Training Center for Cybersecurity and Information Technologies of the KhAI, it is planned to create a unique AI (LLM) Cyber Range - a new generation cyber polygon, where the confrontation of cyberattacks enhanced by artificial intelligence with modern AI-protection solutions will be simulated. It is also planned to expand cooperation with leading European scientific centers.
