He was born on April 11, 1995 in the Poltava region in the picturesque village of Novi Sanzhary. He was the eldest of four sons. At school he was actively involved in sports, was a regional prizewinner in powerlifting, and dreamed of becoming a military man. But after school, which he graduated with a medal, fate brought Dmitry to KhAI to the most “space” faculty. A diploma with honors. His name, along with the names of other excellent students, is forever written in the history of the 4th faculty.
After KhAI, he started his own business with his friends. A son was born into the friendly Rukas family.
And then the terrible date of February 24 divided his life into before and after. In the first days of the full-scale invasion, Dmytro Rukas joined a volunteer detachment of local self-defense, patrolling the streets of the village. Eventually, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served as an external pilot of unmanned aerial vehicles of military unit A 3449. Starting from April 2023, he fought in the hottest spots.
Two years ago, - November 12, 2023 - Dmytro RUKAS, call sign "Tuman", died while performing a combat mission, while serving in the ranks of the International Legion. Dmitry was 28 years old…
