In memory of Andriy Svystula

In memory of Andriy Svystula

This is how KhAI remembers him, his native KhAI-8 remembers him.

His humanity, endurance and prudence, his kindness and ability to be friends.

And this is not a standard phrase from a memorial service.

Almost 20 KhAI students from his stream and more than 20 brothers gathered in Dnipro for the first anniversary. This is to understand how much warmth, kindness and light Andriy Svystula, a graduate of the 4th faculty - lieutenant, volunteer, call sign "Pivdennyi" - left behind him. The call sign was a tribute to the legendary aerospace enterprise, where Andriy worked as a sector chief after KhAI.

These days, friends, colleagues, brothers will gather again in Dnipro. They will remember student life and KhAI stories. They will remember what a wonderful father Andriy was to his two daughters. They will remember how he joined the ranks of the National Guard in the first weeks of the full-scale invasion, how he commanded a platoon and fought the enemy in his native Luhansk region, about the battles for Rubizhne and Komyshuvakha, they will remember Izyum…

It was the fall of 2022. Fierce battles were raging near Mayorsk in the Donetsk region. On November 4, 2022, Lieutenant of the National Guard of Ukraine Andriy Svystula fought his last battle.

20 days shy of his 47th birthday…

“On November 4, Andriy died heroically in the Donetsk region near Mayorsk. Bright memory! A heavy loss for all of us! Thank you, Friend, for the opportunity to breathe and live today!”

“A wonderful friend, a talented person with a good sense of humor, a patriot of his city and country. A true, honest and just man, father of two children. He loved his daughters and wife incredibly! ”- this is all written by Andriy’s brothers.

“He was not a military man, but he was a warrior, not a loud politician, but a conscious citizen, not a desperate optimist, but an active realist. We will always remember Andriy, who fought for our independent Ukraine, who gave his life in this struggle. We lose the best for the sake of hands without shackles,” wrote his daughter Anastasia.

Today is three years since he has been with us.

Graduate of the 4th faculty of KhAI Andriy Svystula.

Bright memory to you, warrior! Eternal memory to you and a low bow from all of KhAI.
